I do no pray for greece. I send it my love.

Praying does not help! Just keep going there to support them.

If there is something in this life that I truly like doing is to go on vacation in a Greek island. Whatever, as they are all beautiful. And when I say beautiful, I mean incredibly beautiful.

Lots of people say the Greek beaches resemble the the most famous ones, I don’t know, from Bali, Hawaii, Maldive, Italy… you name it. But what they don’t know is that a Greek beach is not just a spectacular beach with white/pink/golden/black sands (as they do have a diversity of beaches) with warm turquoise waters.

A Greek beach is the intertwining of all factors that contribute to a person’s mood.  Let’s list some of them here:
– sands – as I said, the color and dimension of sand depends of the type of island. If it’s volcanic, calcareous and so on.
– waters – some seas, like the Aegean Sea has big waves good for surfing, other seas, like the Mediterranean Sea, have calm waters. It’s your choice.
– the sun. Islands are small. If you rent a car, like I usually do, you can see the sunrise and then in the evening go on the other shore and see the sunset in the sea.
– the people. Greeks are very nice people, welcoming and careful with everybody, not only tourists. Greeks are not strict, not exaggerated, they know how to enjoy life without blowing things up.
They know how to relax, always have siesta after lunch, with closed stores and everything. It is way too hot to work anyway.
– the food. It’s Mediterranean diet, if you are familiar with the term, with olive oil, pasta, lots of fruits like figs, oranges and lemons and specific spices.
– the booz. I don’t drink beer, I think it’s either sour or bitter. But not Mythos.  Oh, how I’d like one right now. 🙂 And Ouzo. Ouzo is a little like vodka, but with a strong taste of anais, which becomes a milky-whitish liquid after dropping 2 or 3 rocks in it. With a pleasant smell, too.
– the music. Greeks party a lot. Their music will always be their traditional music on which they always dance and shout Opaaa from time to time.

Why talking about Greece now?
Because something very bad happened to them. On the continent fires are every year, because the weather is too hot. But this year the fire was huge. By now there are 70 death, 200 injured people and 100 disappeared.

greece under fire

People could save themselves only entering into the sea. The land was completely and quickly on fire.  Here are some who managed to find a boat.

You would say that this is nothing new. Disasters happen all the time. There are always earthquakes, tornadoes, etc. People die all the time.

I don’t know about the dead ones, but the ones that survive… OMG, how horrible life would be.

Greece brought me these people in mind. The survivors. The word sounds so victorious, like in a happy-end of a movie. They did it! They made it!

What? To get themselves a a horrible life? Without the loved ones, without a house, without family and friends, without clothes, food, water… At the mercy of some authorities which are overwhelmed..

How  can you start life over again in a world which is so greedy, so money-focused, so materialistic and evil. Are you entitled at least to be depressed?

No, I don’t think so. You cannot afford to be depressed. You can be sad, frustrated, full of hate, you can even literary go insane. You don’t have time to be depressed.

If you manage to rise again, to find good people to help you out and start life from the beginning, then, thinking at your loved ones and your life before, then you you may get depressed. But not in a crises situation.

Should we learn something from this?
Should we understand that our current life can be so, so much worse?
Yes, I think we should.
But do we?
No, we don’t.

Because while I do resonate very easily with tragedy, all I can do is deepen into my sorrow. I don’t think we, the depressed ones, can actually learn something from other people’s tragedy. Though at a rational level, we feel it and we sympathize with them.

A wall has been created around me.
I think of that situation and think that is their destiny. We all die in a way or another.
And you know why?
Because there has been a while since I understood that Life doesn’t run following humans’ rules.
From what we see, life is unfair, cruel, without logic.

If you expect justice, then watch a Marvel movie. Because the real world is made up of yes, good things, but also of incredibly horrible ones.
Like the Greek tragedy.

And Greece is the country that I like the most. The country that brought me some peace in my mind after my own tragedy.
I actually feel the pain of this country. I’m an empath and the mere thought dds heavy loads on my soul.  I am so sad about this.

I don’t pray for Greeks, this just makes me more angry. To whom to pray? To whomever brought the fire upon them in the first place? How humiliating, petty, stupid and useless can this be?

I do believe that my love for them is enough. They will be fine, I know the way they live life (way better then I do) and I’m sure they’ll manage. I will keep on spending my vacations there and I will continue to support the local tourism. This is what I can do.

Be strong Greece!
